Weather Tips

Hong Kong has a subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Temperatures range from 10˚C to 33˚C, with summer bringing typhoon season between May and September each year.

What to Bring

When visiting Hong Kong Disneyland in the Spring and Summer, you will need sunglasses, hats and sun block. You can find raincoats, umbrellas and bottled water at our shops for a hassle-free day under varying weather conditions.

 

Inclement Weather Arrangement

In case of inclement weather, particularly during the months of May to September, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Hollywood Hotel will remain open under the following circumstances.

Warning issued Resort Operations
Amber or Red Rainstorm Warning Park remains open, but some attractions and entertainment may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre remains open, but rental services of pedal boats and Surrey Bikes may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Black Rainstorm Warning Warning issued before the park opens
The park will delay opening until approximately 2-3 hours after the warning is lowered, and will have limited operations.

Warning issued during opening hours
The park will remain open with limited operations; all outdoor attractions and entertainment will be suspended.
Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre remains open, but rental services of pedal boats and Surrey Bikes may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Typhoon Signal #1 Park remains open, but some attractions and entertainment may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre remains open, but rental services of pedal boats and Surrey Bikes may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Typhoon Signal #3 Park remains open, but all outdoor attractions and entertainment will be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre remains open, but rental services of pedal boats and Surrey Bikes may be suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Typhoon Signal #8 or #9 or #10 Warning issued before the park opens
The park will delay opening until approximately 2-3 hours after the warning is lowered, and will have limited operations. If the signal is lowered in about 7 hours before the park is due to close on that day, the park will remain closed for the rest of the day. (e.g. the park is due to close at 8:00pm and the signal is lowered at 3:00pm, the park will remain closed.) Please check our website for the most updated information of Weather Arrangement.

Warning issued during Park opening hours
The park is required to close as soon as possible.

(1) If Hong Kong Observatory announces specific typhoon hoisting time BEFORE 4:30pm:
  • The validity of the used tickets will be extended for 6 months starting from the day of inclement weather*.
  • Please retain and bring your original tickets to any of the following locations (within 6 months starting from the day of inclement weather) to exchange for new ticket of the same day type:
    - Guest Relations locations at Hong Kong Disneyland
    - Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Express at MTR Hong Kong Station
*Different ticket types may have different arrangements, please call 1-830-830 or contact us for enquiries.
 
(2) If Hong Kong Observatory announces specific typhoon hoisting time AFTER 4:30pm:
  • No ticket exchange is allowed, except for unused Designated Day tickets
  • For further enquiries, please call 1-830-830 or contact us.

Warning issued before Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre opens Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre will be closed for the whole day.

Warning issued during Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre opening hours
Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre is required to be closed as soon as possible and will remain closed for the rest of the day.
